I am a masters student in the Bertram lab at Carleton University. My interests lay in species interactions, sexual conflict, and coevolution. Presently, I am investigating the impact of the parasitoid fly Ormia ochracea on the reproductive success of male and female Texas field crickets, Gryllus texensis. I would like to determine whether the Texas field cricket, G. texensis, exhibits behavioural or life history adaptations in response to the presence of their acoustically orienting parasitoid, O. ochracea. I plan to investigate what anti-parasite behaviours and/or strategies are employed by G. texensis both before and during parasitism.
